Hi, my name is Debra Burts and I live with my husband James in the mitten shaped state of Michigan, often called "The Great Lakes State." After a few months of the pandemic, I needed to find a way to relax and take my mind off of the isolation and sadness in the world. My go to for relaxation has always been reading. Initially, I searched the web for books to buy and read. And then one day I was given a book to read by my daughter. I shared that book with my friends (sistas) who are all strong women of diverse ethnicities and professional backgrounds, and they in turn, shared with me their book recommendations.  That experience gave me my first ah ha moment to create a platform for sistas to share books, or articles that they enjoyed and would recommend. I hope you will be inspired to share a good book or story to help brighten the day of another.  We will also feature the works of many other strong individuals who are making a positive difference in the world.
